Program Description

The minor in Family and Consumer Sciences provides basic life skills across Nutrition and Food, Family Studies and Human Development, Fashion Merchandising and Management and/or Consumer Sciences. These fields encompass the essentiality of the human requirement for food, clothing, habitat/shelter, family, and resource management. The minor in Family and Consumer Sciences also provides a foundation of knowledge needed to pass the California Subject Examinations for Teaching (CSET) to become eligible for a teaching credential in Family and Consumer Sciences/Home Economics.
