Minor in Political Science

Program Description
Government, or Political Science, is devoted to study of the theory and practice of government and politics. The Political Science Department at Sacramento State offers courses in several fields of study, including: Political Theory; American Politics; Public Law; International Relations; Comparative Politics; and Public Policy. Over 70 courses cover all the major aspects of political science. Lower division courses satisfy General Education requirements and help to prepare students for advanced work.
Minimum Grade Requirement
A "C" average is required in the Minor.

No more than six units may be lower division. Students may count as many as (6) units of a POLS 195, or (3) units of a POLS 195 and (3) units of POLS 199 toward completion of the minor.
POLS 1 (or its equivalent) or POLS 150 may count as the prerequisite for the minor; however, if POLS 150 is used as the prerequisite, it will not count toward the 15 units of upper division government courses required. POLS 150 cannot count as an elective for the minor.
Note: Students are permitted to repeat upper division courses a maximum of two times.
